Who hasnÂ?t entered some free giveaway for a fabulous prize thinking Â?Sure, IÂ?ll enter, but IÂ?ll never win.Â? ThatÂ?s exactly what Amardeep Kaur, a local Altadena resident, said when she entered the California Waterscapes (www.californiawaterscapes.com) Summer Pond Giveaway.
To her pleasant surprise, this time she was wrong. On June 16th, California Waterscapes picked her name out of hundreds of entries for a custom installed private water garden valued at $ 3500. The family will be receiving a basic 4'x6' pond that includes everything theyÂ?ll need to create the backyard retreat they wanted including their own personal waterfall.
Amardeep said she entered the contest because she already had a small pond that she had built herself but she wanted to remove it in order to install one of California WaterscapesÂ? custom water creations.
Her children also told her that if they had a pond, they would stop watching TV at night and start doing their homework by the pond instead. She said that was enough to convince her to want one.
Â?I wanted a pond and waterfall to create a serene environment in my backyard where my kids would actually like to come out and sit and my husband could use for quiet timeÂ? said Amardeep.
Terry Morrill, founder and owner of California Waterscapes, personally presented Amardeep and her family with their grand prize certificate at the California Waterscapes showroom. Amardeep is already working with a California Waterscape representative to begin construction on their beautiful new water garden and Pacific Pavingstone patio.
