    This is a amazing pond. If I ever move from aquariums to ponds, or just have space and extra cash, this is what I will go by. Great job! Looks like it can also serve as a nice pool too lol.

    @mrpepperoriginal koi are cold blooded they don’t need any food until the water gets warm.
    They will eat if you feed them but they need warmth in the water to digest the food, if not the food can rot in their stomachs when the water starts to warm in the spring,this can kill them.
    You fatten them up in the fall and they are fine until the spring.
    The cold water does something to bring out the colour in the fish.
    There is a small hole in the ice made by an air bubbler to exchange gasses.

    @saltylug Vansterdam would be nice but I live in Ottawa, over 4000 km away.
    I`ll be building a new home in a few years and it will have a glass covered court yard so I can enjoy my pond year round.
    My fish are currently under 10 inches of ice.

    I wish I could build like this where I live in Canada but the frost would blow that to bits.

    @aquazkoi Hi, it took about 6 months but I took things slowly and hand dug the pond!

    throw a few pirhanas in th e pond and go for a swing great excercise i lost a few kg just in 5 min

    @saltylug Have you hired some good strong backs to clean/replace the pea gravel every 5 years? Is a nice arrangement, btw

    I really love your Pond alot of work but it looks like it has paid of! I just got a 22 Liter Tank for my desk with a Goldfish I am happy with that for now maybe one day when I buy my own house I will make a pond also but using a plastic container/pond :P
